Multicultural Outreach

At Anheuser-Busch, we believe it's important to be in the community and of the community. That’s why we support local and national community-based ethnic organizations in their efforts to inform, advance and support traditionally underserved communities.

As the face of America continues to change, Anheuser-Busch continues its long-standing support of the African-American, Asian and Latino communities. Here are a few examples of the multicultural organizations the company sponsors:

TOM JOYNER FOUNDATION

The Tom Joyner Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 1998 to help students continue their educations at Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The foundation, which was created by nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner, aims to bridge the financial gap that may occur after students are accepted into college and later encounter financial difficulties that force them to drop out. Since 2002, Anheuser-Busch has supported the Tom Joyner Foundation with $3 million, funding scholarships for students who are the first in their families to attend college.

NATIONAL CARES MENTORING MOVEMENT

National Cares Mentoring Movement (NCMM) is an urgent call-to-action encouraging able adults to mentor vulnerable young people by partnering with some of the nation’s most trusted community service organizations, such as the National Urban League, 100 Black Men of America, The Links, Incorporated and the Y.W.C.A.

EDUCATION IS FREEDOM (EIF)

Education is Freedom® (EIF) is a nonprofit organization designed to eliminate the barriers to higher education and promote equality of opportunity in college attendance. Founded on the principle that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue a higher education, EIF promotes responsibility, academic excellence and discipline. EIF strives to have a positive impact on the success of urban youth and their pursuit of a higher education through a two-tiered program; at the national level, EIF operates a competitive scholarship program, and at the local level, EIF Dallas provides direct services at high schools in distressed communities, offering a comprehensive, coordinated, student-focused model to increase high school graduation and college attendance rates.
