(Nov. 3, 2004) - Bob Rogers, Anheuser-Busch Newark brewery plant manager (second from left), and Mike Kraskow, Newark brewery Human Resources manager (far right), present a check for $25,000 to Ken Saibel, UJA campaign director (far left), and David Goodman, UJA campaign chairman.

This is the 12th consecutive year Anheuser-Busch has supported the annual campaign of the Federation, which now serves more than 100,000 Jewish people living in northern New Jersey. This newly expanded Federation was created earlier this year through the merger of the UJA Federation of Bergen County & North Hudson and the Jewish Federation of North Jersey. Over the last 10 years, Anheuser-Busch has contributed more than $4 million to Jewish agencies nationwide.

The donation is earmarked to support a variety of health, education and human services coordinated through the agency, including group meal sites, Kosher Meals on Wheels, educational programs for children with developmental disabilities, vocational training for those who have lost their jobs and camp programs for children with cancer.
“We are pleased to continue this enduring relationship with the UJA Federation,” Rogers said. “We believe in supporting the communities where we do business and where our employees and their families live and work.”

“We are grateful for the support Anheuser-Busch continues to show our community,” said Dr. Leonard Cole, president of the UJA Federation. “Anheuser-Busch is to be commended for its commitment to meeting the social service needs of people of all ages and backgrounds. This donation will enable our network of 84 beneficiary agencies and community services to make a difference in the lives of people in our community who need assistance.”

Based in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. is the leading U.S. brewer and holds a 50 percent share in Grupo Modelo, Mexico’s leading brewer. Budweiser is the world’s best-selling beer, and Bud Light is the world’s No. 1 light beer. In a survey of 10,000 business leaders and securities analysts, Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. ranked first overall in quality of products and services among nearly 600 companies researched in FORTUNE magazine’s 2004 “America’s Most Admired Companies” listing. The company also is one of the largest theme park operators in the United States, is a major manufacturer of aluminum cans and is the world’s largest recycler of aluminum beverage containers.
