MERRIMACK, N.H. (May 21, 2008) – Corvette fans of all ages can view more than 150 classic and new Corvettes, while helping support local charities at the 28th Annual Corvette “Spring Fling” car show, Sunday, May 25, at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Merrimack. Spectators are welcome to attend this free event sponsored by the Gate City Corvette Club.
Various ages and models of Corvettes will be displayed and judged in 49 separate classes and will be eligible for more than 150 trophies at the spring show. Coupes and roadsters will be judged in a separate division. Registration is $20 and starts at 8:30 a.m. Judging begins at noon and an awards ceremony takes place at 4 p.m. Designated corral parking is available for all non‑participating Corvettes and other classic cars for a $10 donation. In case of rain, the show will be held on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15.
Proceeds from the “Spring Fling” will benefit the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Inc. Since 1981, the Nashua Soup Kitchen has provided meals and a place to stay for the homeless. Spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and personal care necessities, such as soap, shampoo, bathroom tissue and toothbrushes as donations to the shelter.
Proceeds will also benefit “Corvettes Conquer Cancer,” a Maine-based organization that contributes donations to the American Cancer Society’s patient services, public education and research programs and participates in Corvette-related events to raise awareness of cancer detection and treatment.
In addition to the cars, guests will enjoy 1950s car-themed rock ‘n roll and test their knowledge of automobile trivia as Corvette fan and local oldies, disc jockey Richie-O performs.
While visiting the show, car enthusiasts also may take a free tour of the Anheuser-Busch Merrimack brewery and learn how the leading American brewer makes its beers.
