MERRIMACK, N.H. (May 27, 2008) – Car enthusiasts will display dozens of vintage and newer-model automobiles and compete for trophies in the 16th annual Buick/Pontiac Car Show on Sunday, June 8, at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Merrimack. The event is presented by the Minuteman Chapter Buick Club of America and the Nor-Eastern Chapter Pontiac-Oakland Club International and sponsored by Tulley Buick Pontiac GMC in Nashua, N.H.
Buick and Pontiac owners will compete for trophies to be awarded in more than 20 judging classes at 2:30 p.m. Set up and registration begin at 8 a.m. and voting by participants begins at 10 a.m. Spectators can survey dozens of vintage models dating back to the early 1900s while enjoying refreshments. Vehicle registration on show day is $10. A dash plaque and goodie bag is available for the first 150 cars registered.
In addition to perusing the shiny Buicks and Pontiacs, car enthusiasts also may take a free tour of the Anheuser-Busch Merrimack brewery and learn how the leading American brewer makes its beers. Daily tours are conducted 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. After the tour, guests who are 21 years of age or older may sample Anheuser-Busch premium beers and visit the Clydesdale Hamlet – the Northeastern home of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Gift Shop hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the same weekend, on Saturday, June 7, the Merrimack Brewery Tour Center offers Budweiser Clydesdale Camera Day. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures with a world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale at the Northeast Hamlet – home to about a dozen of the “gentle giants.”
Budweiser Clydesdale Camera Day takes place between 1 and 3 p.m., the first Saturday of each month and additional Clydesdale Camera Days for 2008 are: July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6.
