ANHEUSER-BUSCH DONATES $148,238 TO SUPPORT UNITED WAY OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA

Donations from Jacksonville Brewery and Anheuser-Busch Foundation Benefit Wide Variety of Health, Education and Human Services Concerns

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2008) – The Anheuser-Busch Jacksonville Brewery United Way Committee spearheaded a record-setting campaign and provided a boost to the Jacksonville area United Way campaign. Thanks to the generosity of employees at the Jacksonville brewery and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, the United Way of Northeast Florida received donations totaling more than $148,238.

The donations include brewery employee pledges and contributions from a variety of activities, including a book fair, a barbecue and the first annual Charity Golf Invitational. The United Way of Northeast Florida recognized the brewery with its “Champions Circle of Honor” gold award, based on the percentage of employees who participated and per capita contribution, both of which increased in 2007. Employee participation increased 42 percent and per capita jumped 52 percent.

The campaign committee efforts were led by brewery campaign chairman, Nick Dufour of the Business Operations Department. Nick’s leadership was recognized by United Way which named him 2007 “Campaign Chair of the Year.”

United Way of Northeast Florida works in partnership with volunteers, community organizations and leaders to tackle critical issues facing children, families and seniors. United Way makes lasting changes that improve the lives of one in three people in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and northern St. Johns counties.

“Anheuser-Busch has been an integral part of Jacksonville for 39 years and has made a significant economic impact on this region. As concerned citizens, the company and our employees also wish to further improve the quality of life in the communities where we work and live,” said Steve McDaniel, Anheuser-Busch Jacksonville brewery plant manager. “United Way of Northeast Florida performs a valuable service that benefits a wide variety of health, education and human services concerns in our communities, and we’re proud to lend our support. We’re also proud of the fact that our brewery campaign shattered the $100,000 milestone for the first time ever.”

“United Way of Northeast Florida is extremely grateful for the ongoing support from Anheuser-Busch employees and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation. Their contributions will go a long way toward helping improve lives in the communities we serve,” said Linda Malloy, vice president of resource development, United Way of Northeast Florida. “They join other community-minded corporations and individuals that are enabling us to better serve the many people who rely on us.”

The Anheuser-Busch Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Anheuser-Busch Companies, provides support to local organizations in communities where the company operates breweries and other major facilities.

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of the Jacksonville brewery, and its charitable foundation, have pledged approximately $2.7 million to the Jacksonville community over the past decade.

The Jacksonville brewery was the seventh brewery built in the Anheuser-Busch system and today brews and packages approximately 8.5 million barrels per year. It first shipped beer in 1969 and celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2009. The brewery proudly makes 11 different Anheuser-Busch brands, shipping this beer primarily to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and the Caribbean.
