CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (March 7, 2008) – The United Way of Bartow County’s fundraising campaign received a boost thanks to Anheuser-Busch and the company’s employees. Through the generosity of employees at the Anheuser-Busch Cartersville brewery and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, the United Way received donations totaling more than $72,642.

The donation represents $20,877 from brewery employee pledges and $51,765 from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Anheuser-Busch. The Cartersville brewery presented a special edition of Bud Light United Way beer to employees who chose to participate in the campaign and awarded prizes for different pledge levels.

“Anheuser-Busch has been an integral part of Cartersville since 1993 and has made a significant economic impact on this region. As concerned citizens, the company and our employees also wish to further improve the quality of life in the communities where we work and live,” said Michael Murphy, Anheuser-Busch Cartersville brewery plant manager. “United Way of Bartow County performs a valuable service that benefits a wide variety of health, education and human services concerns in our communities, and we’re proud to lend our support.”

United Way of Bartow County benefits 14 health and human service agencies that provide essential human, health-related and child-focused services to more than 50,000 individuals each year.

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of the Cartersville brewery, and its charitable foundation, have pledged approximately $2.3 million to the Cartersville community throughout the past decade.
