Become an Eyewitness to History: See Live Demonstrations and Tour Grant’s Cabin

WHO:	The 8th Regiment Missouri Infantry exhibit what life was like during the Civil War era.
WHAT:	Grant’s Farm invites guests to travel back in time to the American Civil War and experience a Union Army encampment. Visitors will discover the spirit of one of the most riveting periods in U.S. history through living history demonstrations, military drills and musket firings. Guests are also invited to take a tour of Gen. Ulysses S. Grant’s cabin. Tours of Grant’s Cabin are only offered to the general public two weekends each year – in the spring and fall.

BACKGROUND:	The original 8th Missouri Infantry served during the Civil War under Gen. Grant and Gen. William Sherman. Grant’s Farm, located in St. Louis, is the 281-acre ancestral home of the Busch family. More than 1,000 animals representing more than 100 different species from six continents can be found at Grant’s Farm, which takes its name from the 18th U.S. president, Ulysses S. Grant. More than 26 million guests have visited Grant’s Farm since it opened to the public in 1954. There is no admission fee and parking is $10 per vehicle; $25 for school and tour buses and oversized vehicles. Season parking passes are $35 and available at the General’s Store.
