ANHEUSER-BUSCH PLANTING BUDS FOR THE FUTURE

Brewery Volunteers Planting Trees and Shrubs at the Gardens on Spring Creek

Fort Collins, Colo. (May 17, 2006) – On Saturday, May 20, a team of Anheuser-Busch volunteers will be planting over 1,800 plants in the Gardens on Spring Creek.  In cooperation with non-profit partner Trees, Water & People, nearly 100 Anheuser-Busch volunteers will plant trees, shrubs, forbs, grasses and sedges on the flood plain of Spring Creek to help prevent erosion and enhance the natural beauty of the area.  In all, 72 species will be planted.

“Everyday we dedicate ourselves to running our brewery and operations in a manner that is environmentally friendly and conserves natural resources,” stated Glenn Wilson, plant manager for the Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins brewery.  “This project is exciting for us because we can take our commitment of environmental sustainability into the community and plant these new trees and shrubs to be enjoyed by our friends and neighbors.”

This event marks the continuation of brewery employee involvement in environmental initiatives that improve the Fort Collins community.  In May 2005, Anheuser-Busch volunteers planted over 1,000 trees in the wildlife-stricken areas of Poudre Canyon that were damaged by the Picnic Rock fire nearly two years ago.  In addition, the brewery partners with environmental organizations such as the River Network, American Forests, the Wildlife Habitat Council and Trees, Water & People, on a number of conservation initiatives, including the creation of a backyard wildlife habitat at the brewery and the development of educational materials for employees and the community.

“We truly appreciate the efforts of our community partners, like Anheuser-Busch, who donate their time and resources to make the Gardens a special place for everyone in Fort Collins,” said Jim Clark, director of the Gardens on Spring Creek.

Besides the brewery in Fort Collins, Anheuser-Busch operations in Colorado include a Busch Agricultural Resources Inc. research facility in Fort Collins, an aluminum can plant in Windsor, and a wholesale operation in Denver.  The leading U.S brewer, St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch is the world’s largest recycler of aluminum beverage containers and operates SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove adventure parks.  In addition, Anheuser-Busch supports a variety of community-level and national environmental organizations, such as Keep America Beautiful, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Conservation Fund.  In addition, Anheuser-Busch ranked first among its peers in the beverage industry in FORTUNE magazine’s 2006 “America’s Most Admired Companies” and first in all eight categories measured, including social responsibility.  For more information about Anheuser-Busch’s environmental programs and partners, visit www.abenvironment.com.
