ANHEUSER-BUSCH FOUNDATION DONATES $50,000 TO INSPIRATION PLAYGROUND

Universally Accessible Playground To Be Part of Spring Canyon Community Park

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Jan. 12, 2007) – The Anheuser-Busch Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Inspiration Playground Fund to assist in the development of a universally accessible playground in Spring Canyon Community Park. Organizers, who formed All Together Children, Inc. and established the Inspiration Playground Fund, hope to have the playground opened by this fall. This new play facility will not only benefit children and adults with varying degrees of disabilities, but it will allow all children to play side-by-side despite their physical differences.

“This is a unique and important project for our community that will bring children together for play and recreation, no matter what their abilities,” stated Glenn Wilson, senior plant manager for Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins brewery. “When the park opens next fall, we hope the Inspiration Playground will be one of the key destinations for visitors.”

In the summer of 2003, the need for universally accessible playgrounds came to the attention of Ray Martinez, then Mayor of Fort Collins, and a small group of interested citizens who were intrigued by the idea of a playground that could be utilized by both disabled and non-disabled children. This group incorporated in 2004 as All Children Together, Inc. and has partnered with the City of Fort Collins Parks and Recreation to make this playground, “Inspiration Playground,” a reality in the city’s newest park – Spring Canyon Community Park.

“The community support for the Inspiration Playground project has been overwhelming and thanks to the leadership of companies like Anheuser-Busch, we are well on schedule to raising the necessary funds to make this playground a reality,” stated Brownie McGraw, president of All Children Together, Inc. and chair of the Inspiration Playground Committee.

Anheuser-Busch and its charitable foundation donate funds to hundreds of charitable organizations each year. Contributions focus on communities in which Anheuser-Busch operates breweries and other major facilities and cover a wide range of local organizations. Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of the Fort Collins brewery, and its charitable foundation has contributed over $2.4 million to the Fort Collins community over the past decade.
