Anheuser-Busch Delivers Canned Water to Assist Carter and Boyd Counties Following Flooding

51,000+ Cans of Water Will Arrive Saturday to Olive Hill Fire Department

ST. LOUIS (July 23, 2010) – Anheuser-Busch is providing 2,156 cases — or more than 51,700 cans of drinking water — to help the estimated 2,500 Kentucky families affected by flooding in Carter County and Boyd County.

A truck loaded with donated water left the company’s brewery in Cartersville, Ga., last night. The water will be delivered on Saturday to the Olive Hll Fire Department, 369 Tygart St., which will help distribute the water to residents in need. The American Red Cross Boyd County Chapter and the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, Eagle Distributing in Ashland, Ky., requested the water.

Anheuser-Busch made a similar donation this spring following May flooding in the region.

Anheuser-Busch and its distributors provided a total of 210,042 cases — or more than 5 million cans — of packaged drinking water to victims of natural disasters in 2008 and 2009. These included wildfires in California; hurricanes and storms in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas; and flooding in New York, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 69 million cans of drinking water following natural and other disasters.
